Peter Peeks at Planets

Picture
Come along and take a ride!  Up high to the sky. You don’t have to be afraid, and there’s no time for you to wait.  The planets are calling, can’t you see?  Places like Jupiter and Mercury.  Glimpse the moon so large and full; fly past Mars and Neptune too!  Discover the solar system, things you never knew.  But in the end, realize planet Earth is beautiful too!

This is the challenge Peter is given one day by Bright, a sweet, green alien and her friend Lenora, a large yellow dragon with a purple beard.  Nervously, Peter accepts the offer, and when the ride is over, discovers a whole new appreciation for the sky.

Peter Peeks at Planets is a children’s picture book appropriate for PreSchool to Grade Three.  Young children and parents will love the rhyming couplets and vivid images, while older children will enjoy a lesson on the solar system by the happy, knowledgeable and silly guides, Bright and Lenora.  Like the main character, Peter, all readers will be fascinated by the galaxy, including planet Earth, and are encouraged to think about their own dreams and aspirations— two eternal concepts, almost as old as the Planets!
